This anniversary party invitation was designed for a good friend, Brant Curtis, whose family company was turning 70. For three generations, Brant and his family have run the Wilbur Curtis Company, a commercial coffee brewing equipment, iced tea brewing system and specialty beverage dispenser manufacturer. Based out of Montebello, CA, the Curtis Company threw their anniversary bash on the historic Queen Mary ship, located in Long Beach. While we didn’t go with any colors, the invitation is full of texture and we used a ton of fun processes to make this invitation super rich. For a blind embossed look, we went with black letterpress and silver foil on black linen paper (that also had silver edge painting!). The reply card was die-cut and we created a custom envelope liner with the Curtis logo. All so glam!

Katie, our Studio Manager is pretty serious about her obsessions. They’ve ranged from an intense love for hearts and lips to pineapples and now zebra! (Which MaeMae fully supports, as zebras are cousins of the pony) Even though Katie’s husband won’t let her decorate their entire house with the print, she gets to indulge in daily conversations about zebras with her twenty-month old son since it’s his favorite animal. And because Katie just returned to Minnesota after a 12-year hiatus, she’s really looking forward to sporting that gorgeous coat seen below for her first winter back.

While digging through past MaeMae work, Katie found the cute zebra illustration (#5 above and seen in the notecard on top). We liked it so much we used it to create new notecards and envelopes, and we want to share them with you! Enter to win this zebra set (personalized with your initials) by leaving a comment below and telling us what you’re currently obsessing over. We’ll pick an entry randomly and announce the winner on the blog, Thursday, Oct. 17! We’ll be giving away more personalized notecards and envelopes over the next few months, so stay tuned!

And for even more animal print love, check out Katie’s Animal Planet and MaeMae’s I’m a Zoo Pinterest boards, we seriously can’t get enough!

Happy Wednesday! Here’s a quick photo from the studio today as we were pulling photo samples for one of our lovely retailers, Allison Kate Stationery in Laguna Beach. We offer photos printed directly onto our cotton paper or photos printed on traditional photo paper layered onto the cotton paper through photo corners or cleanly onto the paper. This is fantastic for save the date cards, birth announcments, promotional pieces, or holiday cards! YES! We do custom holiday cards!!

Bloggies! Are you still out there!? I need blogging therapy. Or a blog slave master.

Have you been soaking in all the speedo and swim cap goodness these games!? As an ex-competive swimmer (and child syncro swimmer) the Olympics are the only time all of us chlorine lovers really get to see any action, and I have been loving every second. Second to swim my favorite sport to watch is track. I just love racing. It’s clear. It’s fair. No points, just times. It’s your turn to race now to the shop to get 50% off all of our Syncro Swim Girl cards! Use code olympicdreams at checkout until the games are over on Aug. 12. And tune into the syncro finals tomorrow (sadly the American team won’t be competing – but still so beautiful to watch!)

My friends Lauryl and Sammy recently made the big move to the Mile High City, and while I miss them I couldn’t be happier for the new opportunties and adventures they have embraced. This is how LL (what I call Miss Lauryl) discribed our collaboration:

“One of my dearest friends is Megan Gonzalez of MaeMae Paperie. I’ve been a big huge fan of Megan’s work for years now, and my move to Colorado finally presented me with an opportunity to commission my very own MaeMae original! Megan designed these darling cards for us– they were printed as postcards, both front and back, and then we slid them into see-through velum envelopes for a little protection in the mail. I sent ‘inspiration’ images to Megan of the Rocky Mountains that we drove through on our trek to Denver, and she translated the snowy mountains, green pine trees, and blue, blue skies into these fun, graphic drawings.”

Thank you so much for the opportunity to work together, LL and Sammy!

Check out Lauryl’s immaginative and GORGEOUS botanical designs here. If you’re in Denver and looking for a florist call her now! She is a busy lady and is booking out this year in a new city fast!

The business card stamps are back, baby!! I am so excited that we can offer them again PLLUS I added a mulititude of new designs as well as the option to have the text in black (instead of just the reverse).

These are perfect for branding several different stationery pieces – business cards, letterheads, notecards, etc etc! You can also mix things up with different ink and paper colors. I have also had people turn them into ex libris (from the library of) stamps and “from the kitchen of” stamps. The possiblities are endless!

Interested in a custom order instead of any of the designs offered? We can do it!! For the same size stamp the cost is $98. Email us at and we can get you started.

If you don’t consider yourself very crafty and have never used stamps before I would highly recommend going with the “outline” version instead of the “fill.”  Below is half of the designs (there is a fill and outline version for every design). You can order it today in the shop. Happy stamping!!

Hi, my bloggies! I hope your fall is clipping along famously. Nutty Buddy (yes, the squirrel in the fashionable scarf…) and I wanted to share what’s new in the shop and a sweet treat for you all. Type FALL2011 when you check out for a 20% discount! Just a little treat from me to you. Happy shopping! xx, Mae

The perfect way to personalize your presents + cards? An initial stamp from the MaeMae Shoppe! Buy yours
and receive a 15% discount on everything in the shoppe today through Monday, Dec. 20.  Use code CHRISTMAS15. All orders placed before that date are guaranteed to arrive before Christmas. All custom orders will arrive in the New Year.

Here are some of my favorite ideas for the stamp during the holidays:

– make wrapping paper – use a bright ink and stamp it on kraft paper
– use it as a seal on the back of Christmas cards
– tags tags tags tags tags!
– stamp it straight onto a box and write your “to” and “from” underneath
– leave your mark on a goodie bag filled with cookies for your neighbor
– create a Moleskine journal for 2011 logging your goals and accomplishments and initial the front

The stamp makes a great stocking stuffer and gift exchange option. It arrives in a sweet linen pouch with a black ink pad and ink refill. It’s the gift with endless possibilities!

Stamps have become my latest obsession. I feel like I peer pressure all my clients to make a rubber stamp with me. Thankfully they all cave :) But really they are so genius. You can purchase one piece and customize just about anything. And they look super cute sitting on a desk. My old college rommie, Britt, wanted to create stationery for her globe-trotting sister, Morgan. Since she can’t carry too many things with her a stamp is perfect because she can collect little papers and envelopes as she goes and put her mark on them. Want your own? Email me today at: Thanks for always thinking of me to create gifts for you loved ones Britt!. xxx

p.s. my stamp manufacturer’s motto is: “everyone needs at least one rubber stamp.” GENIUS. Makes me chuckle every time.

It’s funny how the things you love when you are younger shape your career! I used to LLOOOOOVVVEEE making place cards + menus for my parent’s dinner parties, birthday cards, Christmas cards + wrapping paper, Valentines, love notes… just anything stationery. It was all by hand, lots of watercolors, stencils, and collages. Now that I design stationery every waking moment, it is still fun for me to design personal card for loved ones. This birthday card, envelope + liner is for my sis (in-law), Allyson. Love you, Al!
